Judith Jackson, Choral Director & Vocal Coach

Judith Jackson has enjoyed a satisfying career in music, as a pianist, accompanist, chamber music collaborator, choral director and vocal coach. The life of a musician is often made up of a variety of interesting facets and can be viewed like a beautiful tapestry of opportunity and preparation: Principal Pianist of Chicago Opera Theater, National Auditions Pianist with the San Francisco Opera, Judge of the Regional and District Final Auditions of the Metropolitan Opera in Denver, piano soloist with orchestras in Denver, Chicago and Rochester, collaborative pianist with Carl Jackson in annual two-piano benefit concerts, accompanist for annual Memorial Day Weekend concerts with singers of the Chicago Lyric Opera and founder/conductor of annual Bach Cantata worship services at Shepherd of the Bay.

Judith has especially enjoyed playing with the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra in many August concerts, collaborating with treasured friends from the orchestra in February Fest chamber music afternoons and accepting Victor Yampolsky’s challenge to create and prepare the PMF Chorus for many exciting choral evenings in the PMF concert calendar.

Part of the tapestry of Judith’s life is to care for the PMF Esther Browning Steinway after the PMF August season ends, when the piano relocates to Shepherd of the Bay and continues to be played every week by its attentive caretaker.

Oh yes, she is also a fantastic page-turner!
