Susanna Self, flute
Susanna Self is an active recital and chamber music performer in the St. Louis region. She has been Acting Assistant Principal Flutist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Second Flutist and Acting Assistant Principal Flutist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Principal Flutist of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and is currently Principal Flutist of the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra. She was also a flutist with the New World Symphony. After leaving her home in Texas, Susanna earned degrees from the Interlochen Arts Academy, Eastman School of Music, and Northwestern University. She has won various competitions, including the NFA Young Artist Competition in 1997. She recently received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy in May 2008, and is currently in her internship working with adults and geriatrics with disabilities.
