A concert devoted to the early classical or baroque period entitled From the Old Times is a Peninsula Music Festival tradition. This concert features great music from both the baroque and classical periods. The concert opens with one of the jewels of the baroque, the longest of the Brandenburg Concertos, the first. The classical period is well represented by the Haydn Symphony #92, Oxford. After the intermission, Principal Bassoonist Phil Pandolfi performs the Vivaldi E Minor Concerto for Bassoon and strings. The concert concludes with another classic jewel: The Piano Concerto #17 by Mozart performed by Pavel Gintov, last heard at PMF in 2008 in the Liszt Piano Concerto #2.
